Help! Where did my review go?
Sometimes, reviews temporarily get taken down from Review Pursuit for investigation. But they haven't completely disappeared into thin air! A review might have been flagged by our fraud detection software, or it may not have followed our guidelines. If you think this has happened by mistake, get in touch with our Content Integrity Team.

Why do companies flag reviews?
To keep the Review Pursuit platform open and transparent, it's important that reviews follow Review Pursuit's Guidelines for Reviewers. All reviews have to be from real people about genuine service experiences. Companies flag reviews to our Content Integrity Team to investigate if they believe that the review goes against our guidelines.

Privacy & Protection

We prioritize protecting people’s personal data, so we’ve been updating our processes and policies to meet the EU’s sweeping new data privacy rules (the GDPR).

Data privacy is important to us
At Review Pursuit, we work hard to keep everyone’s data safe. We want our customers and everyone in our review community to be able to benefit from using our services, confident in the knowledge that we’re serious about protecting people’s personal information.

In line with that, we also strive to be as transparent as possible about the processes we have in place to store, process and protect personal data.

What’s Review Pursuit doing to comply with the GDPR?
Our commitment to data security and privacy means that we’ve been making changes to meet the requirements of a new EU law on data protection that came into effect on 25 May 2018.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been described as the most comprehensive data privacy law yet, and it requires businesses across the EU and globally to review and rethink how they handle and protect personal data.
For Review Pursuit as a review platform, data plays a central role in our business. Naturally, inviting people to write reviews and share their experiences involves the exchange of information. So, in order to make sure we’re ready for the new rules, we’ve been focusing on putting new processes in place and updating our information about how we process data (see below).

For companies working with Review Pursuit reviews
If you’re a business who works with reviews, you’re welcome to download our white paper on Review Pursuit and the GDPR (see below — scroll down to Attachments). This paper provides an overview of some of the most important issues to consider in making sure you also meet the GDPR's requirements.
You can also view Review Pursuit GDPR-compliant Data Processing Agreement (DPA) that regulates how we process data on behalf of companies, and ensures we do it in a compliant way. This is available on our website, together with an overview of the data sub-processors we use.
For details on how we ensure the security of data concerning companies, see also our article on security practices (including the downloadable white paper, Security practices for Review Pursuit Review Invitation Services), and our Privacy Policy for business users.

For reviewers and consumers
The GDPR extends the rights of individuals and gives them a higher level of control concerning their personal data. To find out how we ensure the security of data for people who use our platform, see our Privacy Policy here.

Questions about data privacy?
Pursuant to the GDPR, Review Pursuit has appointed a Data Protection Officer.
Both businesses and consumers with questions on data security and protection are welcome to get in touch with Review Pursuit Privacy Team and Data Protection Officer by emailing us at support@thereviewpursuit.com.

We’ve collected answers to important GDPR- and privacy-related questions to help you understand how we protect your data and what you can do to manage your privacy.
We want you to feel comfortable and confident about using Review Pursuit to share your experiences, so we give you control over what type of information is shown and where.

I have reviews that I want to change or don’t want visible
You control which of your reviews are displayed on Review Pursuit. You can update your reviews, or — if you don’t want them displayed — permanently delete them from Review Pursuit.

Useful reviews reflect genuine experiences had by real people. That's why we have rules about who's eligible to leave a review on Review Pursuit.

When can you write a review?
Our Guidelines for Reviewers set out that you can review a company if you've had a recent, genuine experience with them. It could be:

  1. You bought something
  2. You ordered something
  3. You had a phone conversation or online chat
  4. You visited a store
  5. You otherwise used the company's products or services
Top tip: Save some documentation that shows you've had an experience (like a receipt or a screenshot of your online chat with customer service), just in case there's a question about your review after you've posted it.

What other requirements are there?
As well as making sure you fit one of the above situations, make sure your review is:

  1. Only about your own experience - not someone else's, and
  2. About an experience you’ve had within the past 12 months.

When can't you write a review?
You can't write a review if you have a special relationship to the company you're reviewing. Specifically, your review shouldn't be about a business that:

  1. You own, have owned, or someone in your immediate family owns
  2. You're employed by or work for, or
  3. Is a direct competitor to a business you own or work for.
